A limited-edition sculptural art piece featured on The Block 2018, laser cut in Corten steel and designed to age beautifully while creating dramatic light and shadow in the garden.
Featured on The Block 2018 in Norm and Jess’ Terrace Week–winning penthouse, the Wattle Bird Sculpture is a limited-edition outdoor artwork designed to bring sculptural presence and layered storytelling into the landscape.
Laser cut in Corten steel and standing at 1500mm, this piece balances strength and delicacy, echoing the dynamic flight of the Australian Wattlebird that inspired it. Originally showcased on the rooftop terrace of the iconic Gatwick Private Hotel in St Kilda, the sculpture formed part of a hero dining zone that helped secure a perfect score of 10 from each judge.
Designed to be experienced day and night, the sculpture can be up-lit to create dramatic evening shadow play across walls and planting. Over time, Corten develops its signature oxidised patina, settling naturally into the garden environment and deepening in character with age.
